UK-based MaKing Records commissioned me to design their upcoming releases, though specializing in theatrical recordings they wanted to avoid all the obvious cliches and go with something a bit fresher. For my first design, I took the concept of mixing the typography of Saul Bass and the look of silkscreen rock posters.

As a member of the marketing team, we decided to fuse the two identities to formulate a common branding.

Video Furnace
Date: 2009 Project: Website redesign Skills: Design, xhtml and css Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator and DreamweaverBrief: As the product was fully scalable, we decided we would do the same with the black strip that also represents the player screen. The use of space was a reaction to our main competitor's narrow blog style and more of a nod to Swiss design. We also took inspiration from the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, using symbolism that reflected we were a software company, and far more playful and appealing than using stock photography.
