    In 2008, we developed a scalable GUI for the Video Furnace InStream player that improved usability and took the emphasis off the controls and focused on the HD streaming video itself. The triangle shown at the bottom of the player, when clicked, reveals an expanded area for psychical video-on-demand (VOD) controls.

    I constructed the idea of the stingray tail creating a wave to break up the constraints of the chassis and allowing one of the logos to be a negative of the other. This was formed with a two-color Mylar panel in front and a one-color silkscreen for the rear panel.

    Originally this demo machine interface was to be built in Flash but the functionality was minimal, therefore we decided that JavaScript would be one less potential problem for the sales team. Each channel launches its own channel guide whilst the play button launches the player.

    The brief was to create some simple one color line drawings illustrating how to connect to Apogee's residential networks. Each sketch was created in Illustrator using a Wacom tablet and a custom brush stroke.
